Holland Bike Adventures of Lief and Kiki

At the end of June 2022 Lief and Kiki are embarking on a new bike tour: seven days of biking from Amsterdam, via Zaandam, Noordwijk, Delft, Rotterdam, Gouda to Nieuwkoop and back to Amsterdam. 

Japanese Artist Yoko Shimizu captured the Dutch biking experience we're hoping to get this year. Though perhaps a view through the big bunch of tulips would be good...

My father's first job was to deliver bouquets from my grandfather's flower shop to towns located around Leiden and Alphen aan den Rijn. He told me he used to deliver not only flowers but also potted plants on his bike. When he turned 16 he started driving a motorized scooter (brommer).... One hand on the steering wheel, one hand holding the pots... Hm... 

Lief and I will be biking through the same country side surrounding Alphen aan den Rijn.  We will keep a blog to keep you posted if you'd like to follow us along.

He's quite sure he wants to see Ronaldo play. He thinks he make the bike trip from Lisboa to Santiago... but after that, he's not so sure. A confident young man, he's ready for Europe.

13, going on 16

I really want to see Messi play at Camp Nou, and I hope to see other games as well. I want to play a lot of soccer on the streets also. I hope I can bike well and far... we'll see.

A long time ago, the bug bit and there was an irresistible draw to go, to find, to wonder and wander. Kiki and Lief and Sol and me, we'll get out there and spin some tires, learn some history and we will live.
